the marine in my doorway

the marine in my doorway. ok, the entryway. i came back from lunch and there was a marine in the entryway to my house, which is a building with 6 apts. but, not like the marines, like a bum who's a vet. he was drunk and sitting cross-legged next to his bags and booze. i talked to him for a bit.

he said he was headed to the shelter on albany street. i decided not to intervene. i went upstairs, and hours later a cop car came by and a van from a street outreach program rolled up and led him, stumbling, inside. i thought about all the people that help people, whose jobs it is to help people. you can apply this description to just about anyone, but it shines through. benevolent workers.

the cambridge cops have to deal with central sq drunks. today i gave the spare change guy a dollar in front of au bon pain in harvard. i saw the guy that used to sell the spare change magazine in downtown crossing on broadway in cambridge last week. i've heard a story of seeing a harvard sq bum in nyc.

i wouldn't mind having a job which required me to take the redline somewhere. i would read the metro and the globe or the herald every day.

spank rock, stanton warriors, junkie xl, boom bip, football basketball and music tonight. lighting festivities

making you go places

if you can tolerate listening to scratchy recordings from the 60s then R&B Ska Beat 45s Volume 1 is for you.

blue doritos, cool ranch, ugh. i've eaten thousands of pounds of food with names that are not names from nature. like pop tarts.

i went to the gym today, there they have the plates that have handles on them, which is worth the price of membership, wait no it isnt.

reading more, which is good news. i realized today that for a job to work for me i have to always feel like i am learning. i didn't realize how important it was. also means i might get super picky about work, we'll see

shoot i didnt call shane today, i also need to write a blurb to send to rowers, ok todo list for today. this is what i have so far (real boring), it's for the 05 newsletter im starting:
"I’m currently living near Central Square in Cambridge. This is the 4th Cambridge apt. I’ve lived in. I have two great roommates who are finishing up college, and I’m grateful to have my best living situation yet.

Since college I’ve worked at National Public Radio, Sermo.com, and TechTarget, focusing on website content management and production. Right now, I’m taking some time off after getting really stressed out at Reed Business Information in Waltham. I had been working there since May in web operations and online advertising. I’m going to take a trip to L.A. next week, then start yet another job search."

i get to see boom bip live in a week. celebration and holy f*ck are playing middle east tonight, celtics are gonna play and prob lose. bc bball and umass bball both won big games. matt gave me his shirt which was too big for him, it's pretty goofy. fish have scales and tails, they swim on scales and breathe tales. they gulp pond water.

phantom hands in the mirror box?
