owls?

owls?

this post has nothing to do with owls.

had to put up the bad photoshop job for dj screw. knowhai'msayin?

did i mention the new john hodgman book, "More Information than you require" ? it's really good but i'm not sure i've really started it, i just read the cover, which took a while. but the john hodgman stuff is great and he randomly CAPITALIZES STUFF which i really like and am trying to keep alive

so the celtics game was torture tonight. towards the end of the first half, the blazers scored a basket with 6 men on the court. the basket was ALLOWED. complete bs. and then the celtics lose. totally lame. but the bruins won

tmrw is new years. my goal is to not get drunk. we'll see how that goes. i just have to avoid the champagne, because that stuff always has my number

i should start coming up with some 2008 lists, but i feel like i'm biased towards the second half of 2008, so it's hard to justify such an endeavor.

but lists do rule

here's a random small photo of 6Blocc, dude is a legend

hey, what's up, i'm hanging out. christmas was cool and now i've got slippers to wear, which is a bonus. weekend was good, celtics lost friday which wasn't cool, but they let the kings only score 63 points last night, which is awesome

i took off the network password on my router because i thought it was screwing it up, then i realized that it was the "extend range" setting that was probably screwing it up. so i turned that off, and i think it's working ok now

been seeing ppl and having a good time. don't think i really went out to any shows or parties over the weekend, but i had fun nonetheless. i've also watched one and a half episodes of deadwood, which is pretty cool, reminds me of Dead Man (1995), so i have to like it, i think i'm gonna slowly attempt to watch the first season, which is like 12 1 hour episodes, gonna be hard, but realistic westerns are pretty cool. Assassination of Jesse James is also a really good movie

just watched the missouri northwestern game. the northwestern kicker missed an extra point in regulation, and they ended up losing in overtime. that's tough...and i thought bc had kicking problems

using flock again

using flock again

so i got this new computer today, which means i can actually function online for the first time in a couple years, which is ultra sweet

i'm using flock again

gonna try to see how it goes, alternative web browsers are pretty sweet, i think flock is like basically the same as firefox, anyway i'm kind of obsessed with it, i don't use any of the built in social functions, but it feels faster and lighter than firefox someshow, their web page is pretty funny too Flock Browser - The Social Web Browser

celtics lost today, but it was a good christmas, now i'm tired, ttytmrw

way too sleepy to write anything but

way too sleepy to write anything but

i'll try.

this photo is again from some dubforum post, they just keep on comin

thank you to everyone that came to the party and that gave me well wishes and that i talked to on the phone or facetubed. speaking of which, i've been meaning to do this for more than a year...

facebook
myspace
youtube
facespace
mybook

nice, that felt good. we could go on...

party was a lot of fun, i can't even tell you how happy i was yesterday. it was easily the best birthday ever. we had a bunch of ppl over and jesse and i had a joint birthday celebration, it was glorious. a couple of us then went to enormous room to see dj ripley, and now i'm falling asleep because we were out so late

i'm happy it's christmas. the roads were so bad tonight though, oh my goodness, i just wanted to get home. i saw one guy stuck on the median -- looked like an suv had tried to do a uturn by jumping a snowy median and got stuck. i also took some photos this morning with my new camera, i'll put some up

yay, eat christmas cookies. -dave

the blizzard of 2008

the blizzard of 2008

well, it's snowing. i had some other title for this post but i forgot it. i've had some success shopping, which is nice! very happy being in the snow globe of my apt while the snow comes down. i got a good parking spot and am feeling pretty safe and secure. i hope everyone tries not to drive too much and that everyone is safe!

this photo is again some random photo that was on a forum post for some dubstep mix. these guys have good taste in photography and graphic design! but i guess that's the artsy style -- make your stuff look cool, combine the senses

pretty funny photo of eminem wearing a celtics jersey huh? but don't you wanna know what player's jersey he's wearing? anyone know?

some very nice comments in the post from sunday. i really liked them all! haha. getting stuff in the mail IS wonderful. i feel bad that i don't do it more. should that be a new years resolution?

haha, there are def some good photos that are legendary status. photos from way back when.

k, so jeff and i went to the celtics game on monday. it was awesome! i saw rob and svenson and dave and pete, it was really cool, jeff and i were sitting right by the tunnel where the jazz players were going into.

jeff managed to: high five perk, get yelled at by security guards, high five deron williams, continually heckle matt harpring and get acknowledged, and say a couple not so nice things to jerry sloan. all were warranted except the jerry sloan part, but hey, stuff happens.

aright, there's gonna be like a foot of snow. should be interesting. there's a celtics game at home tonight which i think they'll still play. boy oh boy, these storms are tough for everyone on the roads

creative and artistic output

creative and artistic output

hey. here are some photos that jeff got yesterday. jeff claims he was aimlessly wandering around burlington mall when he saw Leon Powe "The Show" shopping in champs sports with his wife and kid. jeff did the right thing and introduced himself and reminded leon of jeff's infiltration of the boston garden during the championship celebration this past summer. leon laughed and everyone was pleased and jeff got another photo with him. GOOD JOB JEFF! we're all proud of you :)

well, i'm cleaning today. cleaning the kitchen. clynton and luke are not very good at WASHING DISHES, but i should give them a break because our dishwasher isn't CURRENTLY WORKING. our dishwasher is this awkward black thing on wheels that we wheel over to the sink and hook up with this strange appendage. the appendage isn't connecting to the faucet head anymore after our sink got a leak because everything in this apt is FALLING APART and i want to move next AUGUST.

i'm very happy because Rena sent me a very nice christmas card in the MAIL. it's now sitting in my entryway with its happy snowman on the front. the next day i received Ren'a novella in the mail, "Nick Trail's Thumb." I was ecstatic. i read it, i read it aloud, i reread it, i loved it.

i would highly recommend that you buy this novella. it's really good! you can find it down on this page, Kore Press Catalog. it's only 9 dollars, it's a very limited edition printing, so you should feel really special if you get your hands on one.

Rena's invited me to come up to spend sometime in vermont during this winter (or whenever i suppose). i wanna visit and i think i will! it might not be for a couple months, but eventually i'll make it up there. gettin cabin fever here in boston ya know! the last time i went anywhere was a year ago when i was in los angeles.

watching the travel channel is not the same as travelling. hopefully we'll develop a teleportation system soon.

let's go patriots! also, did you see the umass kansas game yesterday? pretty awesome!

sheesh i need new slippers. and new pajamas. thank goodness it's christmas! aright, stay warm, i hope you don't live in western mass or southern new hampshire and are without power.

waking up during a dream

waking up during a dream

here's a really good photo jeff took in rhode island. man, i can't wait to get a new camera! i found the one i want on david pogues blog, but i'm gonna wait another month or so to get it

this morning i woke up during a dream. this is always a bad sign, because it means i'm waking up during REM sleep and not getting a full rem cycle. so it's my fault but jeff and dave got me to go out last night, and it's all good. but i'm going to sleep at 11 sharp tonight, mark my words

celtics win, bc bball wins, it's looking good. although not sure if you're aware or not but for the pats to get into the playoffs they have to win all of the rest of their games and other teams have to lose. i hope they make it to the playoffs! it would suck if they won the rest of their games but then didn't make it in because of a tiebreaker

it's been stormy and windy and rainy. looks like it's gonna be nastry tmrw too! oh well. i wanna go bask in some sun anywhere in california. travel channel suffices in these times :)

doh, i'm not at enormous room listening to uk funky

doh, i'm not at enormous room listening to uk funky

uk funky is this new genre, it's just like good house music, funky!

there was a show at enormous room tonight but it looks like i'm not gonna make it

eric has a blog about bread, serious bread business, Violence Baguettes Violence , check it out

been a big week. bc football lost, huge bummer, but celtics have been winning everything, bc basketball beat umass in overtime in a great game, and pats won today in a tough gut it out kinda game.

this traffic feed gets me amped, leaves me no excuse for not posting, gotta respect the traffic!

just watching anchorman with luke, bout to go to sleep.

i know this is kinda cheesy, but matt ryan is NexT, and he is NoW. haha. i wish i could watch falcons games on the weekend

ben had a party last night, fun! made me wanna move, rent's are better and spaces are better elsewhere, ya know?

finally gonna be moving on from this computer, it's 4 and a half years old. old school powerbook g4, it's all been replaced, motherboard, case, screen, everything is new, so it's a second generation frankenstein laptop. the new one will actually WORK and have enough hard drive space for all my MUSIC so i am very happy

i did not get a christmas tree this weekend but I will sometime soon. also i went to microcenter but it turns out that many electronics you should consider buying ONLINE

k, i hope you had a good weekend, cya.

running out

running out

with time running out? hrm

had to put up the b side or whatever of this album. album art rules, if you really get into it you can spend a lot of time adding album art

again i put off posting anything until it's too late, this is going to be hard to fix. but if i just don't look up from the screen and keep on typing, then i'll keep on typing

i see that the celtics won tonight, but i still need to watch the game. it's been a big week -- bc beat maryland, bc basketball won last night against iowa (jeff and i rooted hard and jeff said what's up to bob ryan, who smiled after he turned around).

pats lost on sunday, which Drew reminded me about :) how's the Foucault paper Drew? word. not much to say about the pats game, everything was downhill after we missed that field goal

yesterday morning (or was it the one before?) the fog was pretty. i like the golden hazy two toned morning light and the sideway slanting rays of yellow that pierce the vertical clouds.

saw Murray yesterday finally, wishin you a speedy recovery man! that x ray was intense, i hope you're doing ok dude

aright, i haven't gone to bed once on time in a while, tonight's the night i make the adjustment

it's been good blogging with ya. cya. --Dave

ok but just for a second

ok but just for a second

here's an album cover by a tony allen who doesn't play on the celtics

went to bc game tonight with jeff, it was great, too late to be posting. nightnight

“In spite of her extraordinary achievements, she hasn’t even a hint of the arrogance so depressingly common among Dartmouth undergraduates.”

this is a photo of Tyrese Rice

this quote is from an article about a Dartmouth girl who won a Rhodes Scholar (who rows crew! even more impressive because the womens team practices at the crack of dawn [not a good idea in this humble blogger's opinion]). she's clearly pretty awesome. also i pulled this funny quote from the article, haha

found this in a photo album called patsphoto or something, jeff might know more

ate too much and too much turkey and was very nappy and am still tired, had to go lie down in front of the fire, fallin asleep haha

going to the bruins game tmrw, noon game against the islanders, they're unveiling their new goofy jersey. bruins are really good this year, should be fun. yeahhhhh night

“They’re the world champs. They’re terrific.”—Warrior coach Don Nelson.

pretty funny photo of bryan doo stretching sam cassell here. haha thx Andy for the heads up.

happy turkey day! man i'm hungry, can't wait to eat all sorts of good stuff

bc bball lost last night, but celtics won. bc plays uab tmrw, who it looks like is pretty good.

been hanging out with Andy, listening to some chopped and screwed, just relaxing. looking forward to bc game and pats game this weekend. celtics game tmrw night should be pretty good too

i'm gonna pick up Paul and Farah in a bit here and we're gonna go back home for Thanksgiving. i'm gonna show them around winchester a little bit, just drive around. luckily it's not that cold out today.

i'm sure a bunch of you have seen this site, but i randomly looked in old bookmarks and wanted to pass this on if you haven't seen it before. very very funny, passive-aggressive notes

looks like i have some old gems, check this out, Photo blogs

here are the top two links from it, both look really good! ISO 101 Chris Legg

k, that's some good stuff, i'll have to continue digging up old links that still have fresh content

peanut brittle

peanut brittle

ate too much of it. and too many thin mints. the necco kind.

also ate two banana chocolate chip muffins too fast and a bagel with cream cheese too fast. then my stomach hurt for the rest of the night.

here's a cool website with more of this jewelry Shaw Jewelry

andy's here, so we're having fun. talking about music and football and stuff. good times.

had physical therapy appt today, i'm doing well! i've got new exercises to do, which are pretty sweet, so i'm pumped about that

i've got a book that's due today but i think i'm gonna call the library and see if they'll renew it for me cause i've already renewed it 3 times online haha

watched the stephen colbert christmas special, it was pretty good. bears!

patriots game yesterday was awesome. chris made vegetarian chili which was really good of course. i wanna make jerk chicken, i just gotta rally.

i'm still watching the celtics game from yesterday too. tmrw night is bc v purdue at madison sq garden, lil bball game with the tyrese rice show. should be fun.

bc lost to st louis this weekend, so let's hope they come out and play hard tmrw. purdue is ranked #11, so it should be hard, but let's go BC!

weekend was good, just took it easy, needed it. aright, pretty standard posting, days and sports and days. hope you're good. later!

really like her

really like her

these are photos of the new cri boathouse. that's community rowing for the uninitiated. i think you can look at a video of the new boathouse here

it's huge. it's beautiful. it's like something that was built for the beijing games. check it out next time you're in brighton or watertown, it's a sight! pretty cool stuff. CRI rowed out of a hockey rink for a very long time, so it's a big change, and now it's like the biggest and best boathouse in the country. good stuff

i wanted to write a lil more because i got a lil blogguilt after not posting for a couple days, now i can feel myself slowing down though, i also had to post these photos because they've been sitting on my desktop for a long time

aright, rest for the weary. stay warm

to boldly go where no blog has gone before

to boldly go where no blog has gone before

i thought this photo was fitting for the title. it's a photo from some dj's myspace page, again some dude that made some really good dubstep mix (but i think i have this one)

did not go out tonight, but i did watch two episodes of whale wars, which i would highly RECOMMEND you go watch

but first, answer the following...

do you think WHALE WARS is:

a. a show about whales fighting each other

b. a show about people fighting each other using whales as weapons

c. a show about people fighting over the killing of whales

if you guessed a or b you have a great sense of humor, and i appreciate your creativity. if you guessed c i think you're right, but i've only seen a couple episodes of the show

go check it out though. also animal planet puts on some crazy stuff now, including this show untamed and uncut, which i refuse to watch now, it's like those shows "when animals attack" (remember those? we used to make fun of them, and now it's how animal planet stays alive)

another crazy show -- destroyed in seconds. i think it's on discovery. basically it's terrible explosions and disasters and stuff. again, something that you would think would be on like fox or spike, but no, it's on the discovery networks. i guess they had to put on something that ppl would watch

well again i've surprised myself with the fact that i can actually still write. this is good, i'll try to keep on rallying

k y'all, tgif, get some rest. cya

not sure how much i'll be able to keep updating this blog here. don't have much drive to do so, but i'll try to rally

boston college basketball won, they play purdue, who's ranked #10, next wednesday at 7pm at madison square garden. it's gonna be RAD

this photo is from some dubstep mix that i'll never listen to. reminds me of my animation though!

here's a cool link: Japanese girl makes her pitch for pro team

wow it's cold outside huh? at least the sun's out. i need to get a winter hat. well look at that, i actually wrote a post. maybe i WILL be able to keep on WRITING

do you hear the words that are coming out of my blog?!

well, i just got the new album by distance called REPERCUSSIONS and i'm gonna listen to it, so you got me while i'm amped

k, i guess the last time i blogged was a couple days ago, which is SCHILL. it's a beauuuuutiful day in the bean today, fitty five with a chance of WINDY, a good day to go get a new ipod from the apple store because yours won't SYNC any more without FREEZING

i have to rally and go do this, could be DEVASTATING if i don't :)

man, did you see that wind last night? it was like, whoosh!

well, i'm pretty behind, need to listen to music all day. k i'll get back on soon, lates

"it's just football"

"it's just football"

wow, what a game. i mean, we lost, but that's about as exciting a game of football as you will ever see. we stayed for the whole game obvi, didn't blow it like some other ppl there. sounds like there was a questionable call on vrabel on the jets last drive in the 4th quarter?

we had a lot of fun, pats lost, but the pats barely deserved to send it into overtime either. i don't have much perspective on how great a game it was, but it felt like a pretty good one. the last catch by randy moss didn't even look like a catch at first cause it was on the other side of the field, then everyone cheered! haha. and it didn't even rain and wasn't cold or windy.

k, friday now, nother day, pats don't play until miami which is in TEN days. so, do whatever you want this weekend, cause you're off the hook for watchin pats on sunday, haha don't need to schedule your plans around it

wow i'm gonna hafta find the energy to root for celtics and bc this weekend. i was screaming and pounding on the seat in front of me at the end. freakin brett favre (i can't believe i even decided to spell his name right)

wow, cassel set a record for passing 400+ and rushing 62? damn. well, there ya go

k i gotta find something else that's as easy to talk about as SPORTS.

right after i post a link of hockey players fighting (something i don't even like and think it's stupid, but whatever. accessibility begets laziness.) Lucic vs Komisarek 11-13-08 thanks Chris! even though you don't read this :)

k it's late. get some rest! peace.

a reason

a reason

yo yo yo, what's crackin. i'm going to the pats game tonight, so i'm very lucky. i'm also lucky to have grown up in BOSTON where my whole life i've watched BOSTON sports teams such as the CELTICS who have a player named PAUL PIERCE who is a magician and also known as THE TRUTH

last nights hawks game was awesome, pierce is so truthy, he's a force, he's unstoppable, give him 40 mins and he will take over a game

big big week sports wise, like i've said. some other stuff goin on, lemme see if i got any links

Dartmouth Junior Wins County Election

i read this on the dartmouth, but thanks Sylvia for the nytimes link!

k i'll get back at you with some more stuff soon, lates

high hat high hat high hat

high hat high hat high hat

i wouldn't normally put something so dark and sardonic up here, but i really liked it.

game notes from the bc game this weekend: "LB Mark Herzlich paid tribute to teammate Clarence Megwa, who shattered his leg the previous week. Herzlich wore Megwa’s Long Ranger-like black eye and also had Megwa’s No. 11 stenciled under one eye."

linkage: Oak Ridge Boasts Fastest Computer at Open Research

this caught my eye because the Dartmouth Crew trains at Oak Ridge, Tennessee every year. I spent two weeks there every spring break for four years, staying at the Days Inn, eating at Shoney's, seat-racing and eating the largest meals of my life.

waiting and wait

waiting and wait

i've been waiting too long to post. i'll work on this.

great celtics game tonight. paul pierce is otherworldly.

this week -- celtics wednesday, pats thursday, celtics friday, celtics AND bc football saturday. jeez, this schedule just doesn't get any easier huh? :)

I would highly recomend going out and spending money to buy some of these artists music because they are all very TALENTED and deserving of your money. i really love all this music and want to support these artists and hope that they do well. let's spread the word!

barack and roll

barack and roll

wow how awesome is that? what a night. watched cnn and other news all day, cnn is ridiculous and kind of annoying, but i guess it's their job just to overdo it on everything. watched coverage all day, including the story that Cambridge MA had the wrong voter lists this morning

played some ball this afternoon with Drew that I needed bad, didn't do too much with the arm, but it was my first getting outside and running around a little in like a month. so that was cool. i gotta start gettin back to the gym and gettin on the bike

had a fun night tonight with good cheer and television happiness. no debates about the electoral college :)

everyone came over, we had a good time, we watched the daily show/colbert report thing, we watched the speeches, we talked. it was pretty great.

and it will be when we wake up tmrw too! yayyy!!! anticipate excitement

fun weekend, thursday at good life was righteous, party and afterparty/sitting at my apt were good on halloween (no love to somerville po). saturday was good and relaxing, cept bc lost to clemson. i guess the celtics lost their first game too. im still struggling to watch the celtics bulls game haha

some good photos (i can't wait til i get a new camera, one that takes nicer photos)

chilled out today, played some call of duty. i hear that call of duty 5 is coming out. hmmmm i might have to get that ya know! haha. was about this time last year that call of duty 4 came out, was mad fun then

i suppose i have links to post, but i guess they'd all be to music blogs haha. so not much point. point is -- there are thousands of music blogs, in many languages too! and they rule. and blogger facilitates this. thank you blogger

i hope y'all had great weekends and that your halloween was fun and spooky. night, Dave

thanks for the ampedness j and roy. glad to hear LA is seeing green and that we're feelin the C's coast to coast! let's go!

here's a basketball blog that i think some of y'all will get a kick out of...Basketbawful

notice ricky with fro and raef with...himself?

aright, i can't use the beginning of the celtics season as a reason not to WRITE. even still, last years celtics season was a little slice of heaven. i managed to watch nearly all of the games except like 3 (which is kind of ridiculous that i would watch that much tv, but if you know me, a lot of tv is not much of a challenge :) )

so here we are, october 28th, the day of reckoning (ooh not really i don't like that, how about just the day of awakening. oooh no that's worse, how about just the day of raising the banner and ceremonializing the rings? k that's better)

cause think about it this way -- basketball is...glorious. i can't really put it any other way. get

AMPED

beat the Cavs!

so fired up right now

so fired up right now

competing like i ain't got a spot y'all...

"Powe and Davis competed last year with P.J. Brown for minutes in the frontcourt, and then O'Bryant arrived over the summer.

"For me it's team," Powe said. "But I'm going to come out here every day competing. It don't matter to me. When you step on the court, I'm competing like I ain't got a spot. But as far as competition, it's good for the team, good for each other, because it helps you.""

get fired up

get fired up

"We are so prepared," Ray Allen said yesterday, "that in one-on-ones, it got to the point where guys get in fights. Nobody ever actually fights, but we have a lot of barking on this team, from everybody, and I think you see that machismo among the guys. Everyone wants to feel like the top dog. Ultimately, we take that and translate it to the team concept, and everything we do helps the team.
