owls?

owls?

this post has nothing to do with owls.

had to put up the bad photoshop job for dj screw. knowhai'msayin?

did i mention the new john hodgman book, "More Information than you require" ? it's really good but i'm not sure i've really started it, i just read the cover, which took a while. but the john hodgman stuff is great and he randomly CAPITALIZES STUFF which i really like and am trying to keep alive

so the celtics game was torture tonight. towards the end of the first half, the blazers scored a basket with 6 men on the court. the basket was ALLOWED. complete bs. and then the celtics lose. totally lame. but the bruins won

tmrw is new years. my goal is to not get drunk. we'll see how that goes. i just have to avoid the champagne, because that stuff always has my number

i should start coming up with some 2008 lists, but i feel like i'm biased towards the second half of 2008, so it's hard to justify such an endeavor.

but lists do rule

string tokenizer

string tokenizer

here's a random small photo of 6Blocc, dude is a legend

hey, what's up, i'm hanging out. christmas was cool and now i've got slippers to wear, which is a bonus. weekend was good, celtics lost friday which wasn't cool, but they let the kings only score 63 points last night, which is awesome

i took off the network password on my router because i thought it was screwing it up, then i realized that it was the "extend range" setting that was probably screwing it up. so i turned that off, and i think it's working ok now

been seeing ppl and having a good time. don't think i really went out to any shows or parties over the weekend, but i had fun nonetheless. i've also watched one and a half episodes of deadwood, which is pretty cool, reminds me of Dead Man (1995), so i have to like it, i think i'm gonna slowly attempt to watch the first season, which is like 12 1 hour episodes, gonna be hard, but realistic westerns are pretty cool. Assassination of Jesse James is also a really good movie

just watched the missouri northwestern game. the northwestern kicker missed an extra point in regulation, and they ended up losing in overtime. that's tough...and i thought bc had kicking problems

using flock again

using flock again

so i got this new computer today, which means i can actually function online for the first time in a couple years, which is ultra sweet

i'm using flock again

gonna try to see how it goes, alternative web browsers are pretty sweet, i think flock is like basically the same as firefox, anyway i'm kind of obsessed with it, i don't use any of the built in social functions, but it feels faster and lighter than firefox someshow, their web page is pretty funny too Flock Browser - The Social Web Browser

celtics lost today, but it was a good christmas, now i'm tired, ttytmrw

way too sleepy to write anything but

this photo is again from some dubforum post, they just keep on comin

thank you to everyone that came to the party and that gave me well wishes and that i talked to on the phone or facetubed. speaking of which, i've been meaning to do this for more than a year...

nice, that felt good. we could go on...

party was a lot of fun, i can't even tell you how happy i was yesterday. it was easily the best birthday ever. we had a bunch of ppl over and jesse and i had a joint birthday celebration, it was glorious. a couple of us then went to enormous room to see dj ripley, and now i'm falling asleep because we were out so late

i'm happy it's christmas. the roads were so bad tonight though, oh my goodness, i just wanted to get home. i saw one guy stuck on the median -- looked like an suv had tried to do a uturn by jumping a snowy median and got stuck. i also took some photos this morning with my new camera, i'll put some up

yay, eat christmas cookies. -dave

the blizzard of 2008

the blizzard of 2008

well, it's snowing. i had some other title for this post but i forgot it. i've had some success shopping, which is nice! very happy being in the snow globe of my apt while the snow comes down. i got a good parking spot and am feeling pretty safe and secure. i hope everyone tries not to drive too much and that everyone is safe!

this photo is again some random photo that was on a forum post for some dubstep mix. these guys have good taste in photography and graphic design! but i guess that's the artsy style -- make your stuff look cool, combine the senses

pretty funny photo of eminem wearing a celtics jersey huh? but don't you wanna know what player's jersey he's wearing? anyone know?

some very nice comments in the post from sunday. i really liked them all! haha. getting stuff in the mail IS wonderful. i feel bad that i don't do it more. should that be a new years resolution?

haha, there are def some good photos that are legendary status. photos from way back when.

k, so jeff and i went to the celtics game on monday. it was awesome! i saw rob and svenson and dave and pete, it was really cool, jeff and i were sitting right by the tunnel where the jazz players were going into.

jeff managed to: high five perk, get yelled at by security guards, high five deron williams, continually heckle matt harpring and get acknowledged, and say a couple not so nice things to jerry sloan. all were warranted except the jerry sloan part, but hey, stuff happens.

aright, there's gonna be like a foot of snow. should be interesting. there's a celtics game at home tonight which i think they'll still play. boy oh boy, these storms are tough for everyone on the roads

creative and artistic output

creative and artistic output

hey. here are some photos that jeff got yesterday. jeff claims he was aimlessly wandering around burlington mall when he saw Leon Powe "The Show" shopping in champs sports with his wife and kid. jeff did the right thing and introduced himself and reminded leon of jeff's infiltration of the boston garden during the championship celebration this past summer. leon laughed and everyone was pleased and jeff got another photo with him. GOOD JOB JEFF! we're all proud of you :)

well, i'm cleaning today. cleaning the kitchen. clynton and luke are not very good at WASHING DISHES, but i should give them a break because our dishwasher isn't CURRENTLY WORKING. our dishwasher is this awkward black thing on wheels that we wheel over to the sink and hook up with this strange appendage. the appendage isn't connecting to the faucet head anymore after our sink got a leak because everything in this apt is FALLING APART and i want to move next AUGUST.

i'm very happy because Rena sent me a very nice christmas card in the MAIL. it's now sitting in my entryway with its happy snowman on the front. the next day i received Ren'a novella in the mail, "Nick Trail's Thumb." I was ecstatic. i read it, i read it aloud, i reread it, i loved it.

i would highly recommend that you buy this novella. it's really good! you can find it down on this page, Kore Press Catalog. it's only 9 dollars, it's a very limited edition printing, so you should feel really special if you get your hands on one.

Rena's invited me to come up to spend sometime in vermont during this winter (or whenever i suppose). i wanna visit and i think i will! it might not be for a couple months, but eventually i'll make it up there. gettin cabin fever here in boston ya know! the last time i went anywhere was a year ago when i was in los angeles.

watching the travel channel is not the same as travelling. hopefully we'll develop a teleportation system soon.

let's go patriots! also, did you see the umass kansas game yesterday? pretty awesome!

sheesh i need new slippers. and new pajamas. thank goodness it's christmas! aright, stay warm, i hope you don't live in western mass or southern new hampshire and are without power.

waking up during a dream

waking up during a dream

here's a really good photo jeff took in rhode island. man, i can't wait to get a new camera! i found the one i want on david pogues blog, but i'm gonna wait another month or so to get it

this morning i woke up during a dream. this is always a bad sign, because it means i'm waking up during REM sleep and not getting a full rem cycle. so it's my fault but jeff and dave got me to go out last night, and it's all good. but i'm going to sleep at 11 sharp tonight, mark my words

celtics win, bc bball wins, it's looking good. although not sure if you're aware or not but for the pats to get into the playoffs they have to win all of the rest of their games and other teams have to lose. i hope they make it to the playoffs! it would suck if they won the rest of their games but then didn't make it in because of a tiebreaker

it's been stormy and windy and rainy. looks like it's gonna be nastry tmrw too! oh well. i wanna go bask in some sun anywhere in california. travel channel suffices in these times :)

doh, i'm not at enormous room listening to uk funky

doh, i'm not at enormous room listening to uk funky

uk funky is this new genre, it's just like good house music, funky!

there was a show at enormous room tonight but it looks like i'm not gonna make it

eric has a blog about bread, serious bread business, Violence Baguettes Violence , check it out

been a big week. bc football lost, huge bummer, but celtics have been winning everything, bc basketball beat umass in overtime in a great game, and pats won today in a tough gut it out kinda game.

this traffic feed gets me amped, leaves me no excuse for not posting, gotta respect the traffic!

just watching anchorman with luke, bout to go to sleep.

i know this is kinda cheesy, but matt ryan is NexT, and he is NoW. haha. i wish i could watch falcons games on the weekend

ben had a party last night, fun! made me wanna move, rent's are better and spaces are better elsewhere, ya know?

finally gonna be moving on from this computer, it's 4 and a half years old. old school powerbook g4, it's all been replaced, motherboard, case, screen, everything is new, so it's a second generation frankenstein laptop. the new one will actually WORK and have enough hard drive space for all my MUSIC so i am very happy

i did not get a christmas tree this weekend but I will sometime soon. also i went to microcenter but it turns out that many electronics you should consider buying ONLINE

k, i hope you had a good weekend, cya.

running out

running out

with time running out? hrm

had to put up the b side or whatever of this album. album art rules, if you really get into it you can spend a lot of time adding album art

again i put off posting anything until it's too late, this is going to be hard to fix. but if i just don't look up from the screen and keep on typing, then i'll keep on typing

i see that the celtics won tonight, but i still need to watch the game. it's been a big week -- bc beat maryland, bc basketball won last night against iowa (jeff and i rooted hard and jeff said what's up to bob ryan, who smiled after he turned around).

pats lost on sunday, which Drew reminded me about :) how's the Foucault paper Drew? word. not much to say about the pats game, everything was downhill after we missed that field goal

yesterday morning (or was it the one before?) the fog was pretty. i like the golden hazy two toned morning light and the sideway slanting rays of yellow that pierce the vertical clouds.

saw Murray yesterday finally, wishin you a speedy recovery man! that x ray was intense, i hope you're doing ok dude

aright, i haven't gone to bed once on time in a while, tonight's the night i make the adjustment

it's been good blogging with ya. cya. --Dave

ok but just for a second

ok but just for a second

here's an album cover by a tony allen who doesn't play on the celtics

went to bc game tonight with jeff, it was great, too late to be posting. nightnight

“In spite of her extraordinary achievements, she hasn’t even a hint of the arrogance so depressingly common among Dartmouth undergraduates.”

this is a photo of Tyrese Rice

this quote is from an article about a Dartmouth girl who won a Rhodes Scholar (who rows crew! even more impressive because the womens team practices at the crack of dawn [not a good idea in this humble blogger's opinion]). she's clearly pretty awesome. also i pulled this funny quote from the article, haha

Twyman ‘09 named Rhodes scholar
