a reason

a reason

yo yo yo, what's crackin. i'm going to the pats game tonight, so i'm very lucky. i'm also lucky to have grown up in BOSTON where my whole life i've watched BOSTON sports teams such as the CELTICS who have a player named PAUL PIERCE who is a magician and also known as THE TRUTH

last nights hawks game was awesome, pierce is so truthy, he's a force, he's unstoppable, give him 40 mins and he will take over a game

big big week sports wise, like i've said. some other stuff goin on, lemme see if i got any links

Dartmouth Junior Wins County Election

i read this on the dartmouth, but thanks Sylvia for the nytimes link!

k i'll get back at you with some more stuff soon, lates

high hat high hat high hat

high hat high hat high hat

i wouldn't normally put something so dark and sardonic up here, but i really liked it.

game notes from the bc game this weekend: "LB Mark Herzlich paid tribute to teammate Clarence Megwa, who shattered his leg the previous week. Herzlich wore Megwa’s Long Ranger-like black eye and also had Megwa’s No. 11 stenciled under one eye."

linkage: Oak Ridge Boasts Fastest Computer at Open Research

this caught my eye because the Dartmouth Crew trains at Oak Ridge, Tennessee every year. I spent two weeks there every spring break for four years, staying at the Days Inn, eating at Shoney's, seat-racing and eating the largest meals of my life.

waiting and wait

waiting and wait

i've been waiting too long to post. i'll work on this.

great celtics game tonight. paul pierce is otherworldly.

this week -- celtics wednesday, pats thursday, celtics friday, celtics AND bc football saturday. jeez, this schedule just doesn't get any easier huh? :)

barack and roll

wow how awesome is that? what a night. watched cnn and other news all day, cnn is ridiculous and kind of annoying, but i guess it's their job just to overdo it on everything. watched coverage all day, including the story that Cambridge MA had the wrong voter lists this morning

played some ball this afternoon with Drew that I needed bad, didn't do too much with the arm, but it was my first getting outside and running around a little in like a month. so that was cool. i gotta start gettin back to the gym and gettin on the bike

had a fun night tonight with good cheer and television happiness. no debates about the electoral college :)

everyone came over, we had a good time, we watched the daily show/colbert report thing, we watched the speeches, we talked. it was pretty great.

and it will be when we wake up tmrw too! yayyy!!! anticipate excitement

in the interest of search engine optimization and ppl randomly stumbling upon this blog by searching for strings and finding this, i decided to not be lazy and instead actually TRANSCRIBE the names of the artists, songs, and albums that i've been getting my music from (instead of screen capping itunes).

here are the first two comps, and here are the links, reposted for your pleasure. the third one is all set, i'll drop it soon. peace! --Selektah Splatta

let's go C's! one mo'!

let's go C's! one mo'!

"Every night of his adult life, Doc Rivers says, he has prayed before bedtime. And every night, it was the same thing: ''To win a world championship.''
''And the night we won it, I got on my knees to do my prayer and I said, 'Again,' " the Boston Celtics coach said."

thanks for the ampedness j and roy. glad to hear LA is seeing green and that we're feelin the C's coast to coast! let's go!

here's a basketball blog that i think some of y'all will get a kick out of...Basketbawful

notice ricky with fro and raef with...himself?

aright, i can't use the beginning of the celtics season as a reason not to WRITE. even still, last years celtics season was a little slice of heaven. i managed to watch nearly all of the games except like 3 (which is kind of ridiculous that i would watch that much tv, but if you know me, a lot of tv is not much of a challenge :) )

so here we are, october 28th, the day of reckoning (ooh not really i don't like that, how about just the day of awakening. oooh no that's worse, how about just the day of raising the banner and ceremonializing the rings? k that's better)

cause think about it this way -- basketball is...glorious. i can't really put it any other way. get

so fired up right now

so fired up right now

competing like i ain't got a spot y'all...

"Powe and Davis competed last year with P.J. Brown for minutes in the frontcourt, and then O'Bryant arrived over the summer.

"For me it's team," Powe said. "But I'm going to come out here every day competing. It don't matter to me. When you step on the court, I'm competing like I ain't got a spot. But as far as competition, it's good for the team, good for each other, because it helps you.""

get fired up

get fired up

"We are so prepared," Ray Allen said yesterday, "that in one-on-ones, it got to the point where guys get in fights. Nobody ever actually fights, but we have a lot of barking on this team, from everybody, and I think you see that machismo among the guys. Everyone wants to feel like the top dog. Ultimately, we take that and translate it to the team concept, and everything we do helps the team.

well, i hear that a lotta yall (even if it's only a few :) ) like reading this blog, so that makes me happy, and i'll keep on posting

it's late, i'm sleepy, late party last night, windy stormy weather outside

bc lost by many, many points today. they're still in the drivers seat though, just need to win the rest of their acc games

also, the celtics regular season begins this week. oct 28 at 8pm against the cavs and king james (i like the king more than i did last season, think he'll average 30 a game this year? mvp? how bout pierce for mvp? yeah that's what i'm talkin about)

so i'm wearing my KG shirt, gettin fired up

partied at amy/jesse/jens last night. fun times, good folks, tough ipod mix haha but it's cool. good times!

Rena came down yesterday and we had a lot of fun and walked around MIT and that crazy dorm building that i don't feel like looking up right now. but it was good and we walked to the charles and walked through the main MIT building and around cambridge

well, there's plenty to talk about, and plenty links to post, but i'm feelin sleepy and just wanna send good vibes out to yall. this blog is mad fun and it's fun stayin in touch with everyone.

notice the preponderance of the words good and fun? haha

last night i heard that everything happens for a good reason. i'll think about it :)

"To be scrupulously nonpartisan, Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr., her Democratic counterpart, seems to have a deep wardrobe of ties."

hah! nother good quote: "“My first reaction when I heard about this was, ‘Honey, I could have dressed you for a lot less than that,’ ” said Cindi Leive, the editor in chief of Glamour magazine..."

Look Is the Same; the Labels Have Changed

funny article about the 150k that someone thought was a good idea to blow on clothes

nother article, gotta do it Movie Review: Synecdoche, New York (2008)

shout to Jeff and everyone in Schenectady, where this movie takes place. i really wanna see it! i love Philip Seymour Hoffman, ya know?

this is a poster that i really like that i had to save. pretty cool huh? for some reason i think i think about a constellation when i look at it. pretty sweet. i wanna go to england pretty bad so i can go see dubstep shows

i made a new mix and i've got all the tracks i just need to upload it, does anyone really even listen to these things? whatever i still enjoy it :)

i've kinda got the world series on. i've decided that at most i will watch the last three innings of every game, and only then with the sound off haha

so i got yellow curry tonight, which is my goto thai food dish, and it was really good, but get this...(it's pretty scary)...

there were NO PINEAPPLES. none. i saw a potato and i thought it looked like a pineapple but it WASN'T. it was an IMPOSTOR. i'm glad that potatoes taste like potatoes, and that pineapples taste like pineapples, but i really would have liked it if halfway through the meal the potatoes had changed to pineapples. didn't happen though. also it would have been nice if a couple of the carrots were like, something else too

ohhohhhhohhhhohhhh (can you hear me singing?)

everyone's a winner

everyone's a winner

gimme a little more time and i'll actually write something again

temporal determinants

i went and saw "Man on Wire (2008)" tonight at coolidge corner theater which was really good. the theater was tiny and there were only like 17 seats which i thought was pretty cool.

i got pizza and other food from pizza republic in coolidge. the pizza was GOOD.

also, i'm gonna kinda miss not wearing the sling. everyone's so nice! reminds me of in the movie i saw tonight how the guy used crutches to talk his way into places he wasn't supposed to be. kind of

this photo's from a story i saw on fark.com -- yup, a boat with bags of chips cracked open or something, and voila. whoa, i musta seen a movie about french ppl tonight. tres funny!

it was many things this weekend, but most of all it was head of the charles and it was dartmouth homecoming

saw this in the d today...

"“This involved a group of people who claimed to be ‘03 alumni, and one became belligerent,” he said. “He took a steak off the grill and struck a student in the face with it.”

In addition to the reported fights, two pieces of heavy equipment were stolen from Red Rolfe Field, the construction site of a new Dartmouth baseball field, on consecutive nights, according to Kinne.

Both items, a front loader and a dump truck, were found by Safety and Security on the front lawn of Chi Heorot fraternity on Saturday and Sunday morning, respectively. Police are still investigating the incidents."

Homecoming brings arrests, severe burns

and a couple drunk kids touched very hot embers, i hope they're ok

thanks again for a great photo Faith!

tv, it's like a lot of commercials

tv, it's like a lot of commercials

i think these photos are of uproot andy
"How do we know who we are or what we can become? We tell ourselves stories. The stories we tell are what we know of ourselves. We are a creation, a product of our own minds, a pastiche of memory, dream, fear, desire. My memory looks like a chil’s collage, or a ransom note, incomplete and full of holes. All I have is today, this moment, to work with. I am writing my story as I go. I am inventing myself one moment, one experience, at a time."

-Marya Hornbacher

"Quixote seems a bizarre fellow at first acquaintance, but most of those who come into contact with him end up half converted to his wa of thinking, and therefore half quixotic themselves. If there is any lesson he teaches, it is that in the interest of a better, more lively world it might not be a bad idea to cultivate in oneself a capacity for dissociation, not necessarily under conscious control, even though this might lead outsiders to conclude that one suffers from delusions."
