here's my version, adapted for the 21st century -- "Never email if you can talk. Never talk if you can smile. Never smile if you can hug."

or how about -- "Never email if you can chat. Never chat if you can talk. Never talk if you can smile."

whoa, i managed to make my two similarly meaningless (or not?). i'll leave it up to you

what does it mean to you? all that i can think about is how i prefer talking on my cellphone to texting. as in, id rather that you just call me instead of text. ya know what i mean? not that there's anything wrong with either one.

another thing it means to me -- never email or chat online or talk on the phone if you can talk to someone in person. it's that simple. hmm.
