personality types | keirsey temperaments | "Everything is capable of logical prediction"

there are 16 personality types. i am INTJ, the strategist/scientist/mastermind. only 1 percent of the population is intj. you can take an online quiz and find out what you are.

i have felt generally positive about this, until i came across this online after excessive searching. now i need to think. from INTJ - Jung Type Descriptions

"loner, more interested in intellectual pursuits than relationships or family, not very altruistic, not very complimentary, would rather be friendless than jobless, observer, values solitude, perfectionist, detached, private, not much fun, hidden, skeptical, does not tend to like most people, socially uncomfortable, not physically affectionate, unhappy, does not talk about feelings, hard to impress, analytical, likes esoteric things, tends to be pessimistic, not spontaneous, prone to discontentment, guarded, does not think they are weird but others do, responsible, can be insensitive or ambivalent to the misfortunes of others, orderly, clean, organized, familiar with darkside, tends not to value organized religion, suspicious of others, can be lonely, rarely shows anger, punctual, finisher, prepared"

a lot of what's here is ridiculous, as you can see. i even came across a description that flatly said "They do not enjoy physical contact except with a chosen few."

"Everything is capable of logical prediction" from INTJ Personality Type

of course! what an obvious blanket statement! yes, i am an oracle and i profess foresight:

ok i watched some flight of the conchords last night and i'm going out and finding the dvd today. i haven't laughed that hard since the pinata at babayan's party this summer.

shoot i gotta roll, moving at the speed of dave. massage at inman sq oasis, getting xmas tree in union sq, then shopping with jeff.

new music, festival of new musics is not new music. making your own instruments, like the mae shi. omg watched a diva's christmas carol last night. now that was something else. i got a dvd of a really old production of scrooge for a buck at target. i think that's gonna have to get watched.

my todo list extends into infinity.

the wintry mix and its discontents

looks like the pats game is over. chris couldn't go because his car got snowed in. he walked home last night. i brought a wreath home that we picked up in porter, i couldn't find my car for a bit, so i was stomping around davis with a giant wreath.

showed up with jake and chris to a couple parties, some christmas stuff and sweaters and hamilton people. was fun, played wii bowling a lil, stared at christmas lights.

we chilled (vodka triple sec cranberry juice). dealt with the awkweirdness, sank guacamole.

went out, from davis to porter, took over a room, accepted a dead guy rogue ale, bud light, crackers and cheese. went to the chinese place close to davis sq, got kicked out at 2am sharp.

back to porter, dumprings, watched the first half hour of superbad, left with jake, considered getting a cab and talked to three girls smoking butts on a porch on elm st. i picked up the wreath and hoofed it to broadway, eventually finding the right street.

got home way too late, woke up early, met clynton's brother and his family, showed him ps3, kicked snow, got sick, neighbors downstairs gave me their shovel, dug out the car, drove here, hash browns, celtics boogie, jets miss the field goal.

pomegranates. juiced. seeds. do the watermelons give me health?

live couch poetry

live couch poetry. purple tshirt, dkny jeans, whose aquafina is that? the target parking lot was full, but i'll be back.

i'm in the mood to go see Before the Devil Knows You're Dead, looks like a really good movie, it's playing in davis sq at 9:45, i think i'm gonna walk there from north cambridge.

college hoops, hockey, family guy. i won't be at the pats game tmrw but i will be watching. pats and celts both start at 1pm, which is weak, so i'll be flipping back and forth, likely at home, dono who will join me.

the vodka is called reyka, it comes from iceland, claims to be volcano filtered. pumice is as rough as it sounds.

holy cow google maps street view, take a walk, anywhere. eyes in the back of your head.

shopping over the internet, purchasing online, spending fun tickets on a website. packages arrive, ups notes are left, cardboard packing tape and this side up.

arg i need chocolate mousse and cupcakes and carrot cake and cheese cake and a breakfast at matt murphys with eggs and that amazing bread. i never drink coffee anymore

i should really just find a place in cambridge where i can get my haircut. i gotta man up and go get a tree, shoot, but do i need a tree holder first (mental note)?

don't pay any attention to biorhythms

not personal at all

this blog isn't personal at all. oh wait yeah it is.

there are a lot of things i want to write about, i've been thinking about them over the past hour or so. but now i can't remember anything so i'll just write whatever i feel like

ended up not going to mideast or to the party tonight (both good calls). ended up watching thomas crown affair and discussing body doubles. right. they're like 90 years old

oh yeah if you study film eventually you learn two things -- 1. hollywood is 75% heterosexual romance -- 2. the american narrative structure is based on melodrama

put them together and what do you get? every other mainstream film contains a melodramatic heterosexual romance. movies suck. movies are bad. i took a whole class where all we did was study melodrama, and it opened my eyes. but i digress

so tonight was chill. i ended up picking up jeff and giving him a ride home. gave him a couple hats. he had gotten steak fries and a steak and cheese (nasty).

i had the best tea ever, royal blend. theres a place called carberrys right near me that's nice too

but if i wanna write everything then what if i write everything? then i'll just come across as long-winded and lacking direction. but this blog isn't personal. it's not personal at all. oh wait what else is it

because there's so such thing as objectivity. there's no such thing as objectivity. there is no such thing as objectivity.

k this is kinda becoming a marathon post, but it's ok, roll with it.

i drove across the bu bridge and looked at the snow on the arch. the river is freezing over. what kind of winter is this? oh yeah it's like any other boston winter.

people live in boston and don't like it. they don't like it. boston or the weather. i'm not one of these people, but i understand these people. (or do i?)

criticizing, second guessing, how many other ways are they to say questioning yourself?

almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. i used to think i was cool for knowing this. but now i know that playing horseshoes is good times and hand grenades are terrible and not something to joke about.

i'll try to keep my mouth shut. i have to remember to not joke about that. gunner palace.

sun will rise, it won't last forever. i should be asleep. dram, dream, dredge, dreary, driven to drain dirigibles.

my best year is next year

my best year is next year. seeing people, talking to people, not seeing people, not talking to people.

"don't you feel like sometimes you get totally f+++ing robbed?" "yes"

sitting here, waiting for c, should be any minute. celtics are on, mr lif at middle east tonight (with special teamz). party in davis. what's gonna happen in the next 6 hours? your guess is as good as mine

genius bombs are being dropped on me.

"we can find a market for that"

kinda playing video games, kinda want a wii, kinda want full immersion virtual reality

i remember being in cyber theory class (i think) and talking about total immersion, like in strange days. total immersion.

the games of the future won't feel like games. they'll be like the sims, except you'll be one of the people

it boggles the mind how much time and energy people spend on gaming. let's hope all this effort eventually gets diverged to something more productive (but i diverge)

what happens if you look at a jackson pollock painting upside down? if it was painted while horizontal, what dimensionality does a plane attain?

the shirtless man in shorts shovelling the sidewalk in front of the middle east

the shirtless man in shorts shovelling the sidewalk in front of the middle east

i spent a while in the car today. i drove through waltham, arlington, belmont, cambridge, boston, brookline, somerville. the going was slow. it is now the 14th.

i know someone that got a dog.

i'm talking with someone now that i haven't talked to in a long time.

i'm trying to make a decision (but am i really?).

i am becoming more disparate, disentangled, disassociated, disassembled. under mi sleng teng

i don't so much type as splat, i don't so much write as blotter, i don't so much compose as dispose, i don't so much blog as scribble, i don't so much report as ramble, i don't so much compile as pile on.

i'm thinking about the way the snow makes you feel. the snow falls and rests, flake on flake, in drifts that rest on car doors and church walls.

i sit in my living room and the snow continues to fall, and the inches on the sloping roof of the church tumble down.

at dartmouth the snow and ice used to fall off the buildings directly into the path you were about to be walking in. i saw many abandoned cars on the road tonight

k. let's listen to duke ellington's nutcracker suite. then vince guaraldi charlie brown christmas. then hot chocolate, then dream

back home | ambivalence | my roommates make me happy

back home. i'm ambivalent about continuing living in boston. which is weird, because i have so much fun here and i love everyone here and i know i would miss everyone so much if i left.

i'm lucky though, cause i live with amazing roommates. clynton had to pull an all nighter and they're hilarious

"yeah but he's a fashion designer and he has like diplomatic immunity from being gay"

i'm reminded of how we wrote quotes all over the walls of tabard, especially the bathroom walls. over the course of a term, a year, an undergraduate career, you read the same quotes dozens, hundreds, thousands of times. it would be a short quote and then a persons house name, or a couple house names, which you either knew or didnt

so my roommates are funny and make me laugh constantly. i don't know how or why i ever lived alone. whoops.

i want tmrw to be a big day and to get things done (but do i really?). looks like a storm's coming, uhoh, noreaster. i learned about what a northeaster was once but forgot. i've come to understand i did a lot of work in college but it wasn't sustained enough.

i'm gonna cop oh no's dr. no's oxperiment.

lemme get back at you

all good things must come to an end

all good things must come to an end. headed back soon, all awaits.

today andy and i drove to venice beach, walked up and down, i got some hats and shirts as gifts for friends. we went to coffee bean and in n out. i've packed my jazz and am redz.

i'm going back with a couple notions and a whole new appreciation for warm weather. literally on the 11pm news here they talked about how cold it is here. it's pretty funny. rob b called me today and we'll hang out soon. there are other people i need to get in touch with.

i got a dodgers hat, be ready to call me out on it.

i'm gonna go back to central sq and play call of duty. i get to use the excuse of being jet lagged for at least a couple days. i'm looking forward to doing things on thursday and friday. tmrw night i'm not sure if i'll make it back out after getting dropped off at home.

check ya in the morning

in song and dance

in song and dance.

time to go out to the porch and catch rays. i've been really lucky with the weather here. kind. my plane leaves here at 12:50PM tmrw. i've gotten some random photos and will hopefully get more today. ideally andy will get out of work and we'll go to the beach.

listening to wmbr, as always. my fav shows are motivashunal muzik, choice is yourz, generoso's bovine ska and rocksteady, the intercontinental, subject to change, sans serif, lost and found, nonstop ecstatic screaming, time travelling, and backwoods

i've finally gotten to the point where reading online news articles on my laptop is a little tiresome. i should start using my old computer again maybe, set it up somewhere. not a bad idea actually. i can't wait to see what new laptops apple is coming out with in the next month.

i used to check maccentral and macosrumors religiously. yikes. i can think about my attention span and ability to focus and how it relates to using computers and reading. it's pretty astounding. i am now able to be twice as productive writing, reading, or computing. i now feel the need to create and produce because it is so much more effortless.

i like it out here in cali, but i wouldn't be moving til the second half of 2008. i'm not sure how i can begin thinking of it more as a possibility than a fiction.

hold fast

kinda feeling a little more motivated to find a job. not sure what direction is the right one too. my friends are my consultants.

started reading sixth extinction, it's gonna be good. i wanna work 20 hours a week and still have time to feel like reading. i'll repost my resume on monster and careerbuilder and all that.

that was a distraction. hours later, bruins are on vs now. better win. our defense is good.

gonna go out somewhere for dinner tonight, time will tell

i had wanted to

yesterday andy and i watched exciting football and rooted up the pats a friend of andy's.

we of course had spent the whole day in the apt in front of the tube, so a change of place was in place. we drove out to santa monica and then to venice to a restaurant called bamboo that was delicious, diverse menu, cuban/mexican. it was really, really good. we got appetizer, salad, and entree, and it was a great mix of shrimp, veggies, tequila, and some brazilian rum.

they had chocolate mousse cake too but i'm getting pretty incapable of eating that stuff after a big meal. the food was good though -- it's hard to find a really good place, and when you do you gotta hold on to it.

we came home and just hung out. now i gotta straighten out my back.

today andy's gotta go to work, which means i'm on my own. more porch, more books, i'd like to go to venice beach tmrw. thinking really really hard

leftfield | burial

burial is a new band that's all dubsteppy. i've been introduced to matt shadetek, and i'll link to this nutty grime/dubstep mix. more fire more bass
you might have to skip through some parts. i haven't listened to much grime but i'm trying to make the transition.

yesterday was fun and funny. let's see. we drove to santa monica and went to the parlor again where we got a bunch of drinks and food. andy's friend vanessa joined us and andy managed to gut it out through the night even though he only had one meal the whole day.

we watched the celtics beat the bulls, and also laughed at the guy that was rooting for north dakota hockey. there was a big to do when dartmouth invited the fighting sioux to play in a dartmouth hockey tournament which resulted in the dartmouth athletic director writing a ridiculous letter. i might as well link to it because it raises the issue of how dartmouth can suck so blatantly.

she really thought hard before she wrote "Let me state clearly that UND’s position is offensive and wrong." stupid dartmouthshe probably composed that letter in a panicked 3 minutes.

so, went from the parlor to vanessa's local spot called mccabes, which was nice, with couches, and andy still hadn't eaten anything. we then went to another bar that i've gotta inquire about the name, had kamikazes, watched ucla volleyball (i guess we were in bruins neighborhood), then went and got cookies and ice cream at dee dee reese

lotta fun. i think i'm gonna get some sun from 10-1 while andy crushes football. got my vans on but they look sneakers. to stay sylphlike. i'm out of clothes, bad news. k cool cya

Re: Up

the parlor was so nice that we're gonna go back in an hour. doesn't look like there are any other games on so we'll def be able to watch the celtics again.

after santa monica we just chilled last night. today we picked up andy's friend apollo and drove him to go pick up his car. we drove up the coast and even drove through topanga canyon and the burned out parts. we drove by a church that had burned to the ground.

we went up the pch through malibu canyon and malibu canyon rd to agoura hills and then came back on the 101 through the valley. i got a couple good photos of a bugatti and the torched hills.

we stopped at a produce store and i got good local strawberries. we hung out and watched monster trucks for a second.

the parking lots get crowded here too. we drove by the farmacy. gonna be cold tonight. so much to be accomplished. i wanna move out here

L.A. continued | Echo Park

A lot to write about, I'll try to get it out. We drove all around the place, lenox, inglewood, baldwin hills, through mid city, pico union, west lake, macarthur park, alvarado st, downtown to skid row on the east side near alameda, the warehouse district, fashion district, union station, a few blocks down sunset boulevard to echo park.

faith lives by the pond, driving a hybrid and parking either in front of or in a small garage with a lock. it's on a hill, up steps, she's lived there for a while. lemme try to piece it together.

we went to pick up her laptop which was finally ready at the mall, went to ralphs to get beer, went to her place and installed leopard. jeff of the mae shi came over and we drank a beer in faiths kitchen and laughed and talked.

we went to dinner at masa, when jeff and the rest of boom bip promptly walked inside, total coincidence. they sat at their own table and jeff came over to chat a couple times. we ate salads with not enough dressing, potato leek soup, and paninis with diet coke.

drove out to the viper room, saw the end of junkie xl's set, waited around for boom bip, dealt, enjoyed boom bips too short set. viper room sucks

went for mexican pastries this morning. someone thinks that to have a blog you have to be full of yourself. this point isn't really worth discussing. also, the instrumental to run to your grave by the mae shi was played during the lions game on thanksgiving.

andy and i are gonna go to the parlor in santa monica, some fancy sports bar to watch celtics v toronto. living in mexico. it's all so. trail off. fluctuating in mind speak. patterns of thinking that fluctuate according to the tides.

the moon's cycles determine the rolling moods and mindsets.

go by the port later

high surf advisory till 3pm, heavy rain after midnight

gonna go for the tour in a bit, then dropped off at union station and meeting up with faith at 3. nutty show tonight, i've been slacking and this is gonna be a jolt.

it's weird how weird i am and how weird you are and how weird everyone is. or is it crazy how crazy how crazy and how crazy everyone is. both.

omg the 11pm news last night was terrible and terrifying. the news now is rough too.

i got a call from a recruiter looking at an old resume of mine who listened intently and then ended the call by telling me the job requires 6 years of experience but that she would keep my resume on file. i graduated 2 and a half years ago. i restrained myself from reminding her of this.

faith is on the phone with the apple people trying to get her laptop fixed. i'm gonna bring mine along, continue to document and catalog. this is a first.

45

45. the number can apply to any number of things. a record, cost, a weapon.

today was fantastic. we went to mar vista near venice high, hung out at a place that reminded me of pulp fiction, went to sonny mclean's in santa monica for the celtics, drove home through dense fog. i'm wearing my blue yo la tengo shirt. today was really funny, saw a lot of stuff i never see, stuff that made me think.

culture shock, in a big way. little mexican skaters. rims. we drove down the strip on wilshire. i struggle to fathom, hasten to comprehend

train wreck, sugar shack, juicy fruit. leaving the door open, i don't know if the landlord hates me or loves me, loud grime, spongebog, swisher.

i ate apps and corned beef (after reading omnivore's dilemma so much and reading about cows so much i felt like eating beef, which i never do). chris made the best corned beef once.

beeradvocate, firestone double barrel ale, lakers nuggets, ai, printer friendly, hollister staffing, the vice guide to bands.

we'll leave at 8:30

olde new england's curious customs and cures

hung out by the pool today. left with fifteen minutes til noon so that i didnt get sunburned. it's a wonderful 72 degrees right now, cept it might rain sat and sun, but big deal. i'm gonna go to echo park tmrw, and tmrw night is boom bip and junkie xl at viper room. i need to ensure this

i'm of course listening to live wmbr and wzbc out here, streaming online. it's comforting. i think about boston. the smells here are different. everything's different. i haven't seen anything.

when i changed the color scheme it got rid of my analytics tracker, so i have no stats in my report for the last 5 days, but it's not impt, because i know people read this blog. it's just funny.

not to be compulsive.

this room is really funny, with art student stuff, and colors, and bright colors. i imagine i'll take some photos at some point. the pool is fantastic, and i kinda wanna put some sunblock on and go back out. it's just too beautiful today, a day in december. i could use a safety pin

i wanna go watch the celtics at a sports bar at 4pm when they play the 76ers. i think about my friends. i've come to know a bunch of people. come and go. murp lives in chicago now.

this is a record of a time, of a life, of a ____ spent. strange. edge, verge, lip.

unusual, story, tell. look back and

birds of paradise in full bloom. the ice does not get chipped away in boston, the mbta is in debt, the construction is ongoing.

because i don't have to write papers for class any more i don't really care about using the passive voice and the verb to be a lot. i used to write good. well.

think of the. a place in the sun, watched that movie a lot
